Happy Anniversary, Babe!

Picture

It's our anniversary!

<<--- That's about how I've felt for the past 18 years. Trying to get my shit together while everyone else is waiting on me.
Picture
On the flip side, since it has been 18 years, I guess I must be doing something right. That, or my family is simply patient. But I am forever grateful that my amazing husband stuck around this long. We've been through plenty of ups and downs over the years. The one thing that's constant is how supportive my amazing husband is. I don't know what I would do without him.

Things are a changin' !!

Don't worry. That's not a cryptic message, it's simply a statement of fact. Things are changing here at the Edwards household. Namely, I now have the entire house to myself during the day.
What I'm really trying to say is that Taylor has recently taken a job elsewhere.

Many of you may know that Taylor has been working as my assistant for the past year, managing most everything that I do with the exception of actually writing books. But, as of January 1st, she has moved on to bigger and better things. The auction company she previously worked for offered her an opportunity that she just couldn't pass up. I know how much she loved working there and since they are equally fond of her, I encouraged her to pursue what will make her happy. Needless to say, I'm sad to see her go, but extremely happy for her.

Do you know what this means? Well since Steven went back to work in August of last year, and our youngest is in high school, it means I'm home all by myself during the day. It also means I can traipse around aimlessly and talk to my characters (out loud) whenever I want. And there's no one here to witness it.

Okay, fine,  a
lmost no one. As you can see, Moscato is keeping close tabs on me, so there is nothing to fear. She's keeping me on track.

But, this also mean that my job duties have grown immensely. Since I am rolling solo, I am now responsible for all the tasks of running a business on my own. And I happen to know this isn't as easy as it sounds. Considering I've had help since January 2013, just a few months after I published my first book, I've grown accustomed to their assistance.

2020 ... yep, it's officially here

Picture
And we're nearly a full month into it, I know. Only days from February, which means Valentine's is right around the corner. Where is the time going?

Well, I can tell you where my time is going. I've been converting minutes into words. Then more words. Of course, the delete key is getting a workout, too. More than I'd like, actually. BUT, my one and only goal for 2020 is to write. More importantly, to continue to enjoy writing.

Sounds easy, right? Not necessarily so. And I think that's the problem. Writing can't be forced. I mean, sure, I can sit down and write the words, but to fall in love with the characters and the story, I have to let myself breathe during the process. I've spent years caging myself into these boxes (also called series) and the most bothersome for me is that I get you interested and then ... radio silence from the characters. Not fair, is it? Not for you or for me, I promise. I feel it too when I want to sit down and chat with the boys from Sniper 1 Security, or the mob boss from Southern Boy Mafia. What about the Lambert sisters from Dead Heat Ranch?

So, what happens when they aren't talking to me? Well, that's easy, I just start writing something else. Does it work? Yes and no, depends on the timing, really. I mean, after all, that process is what spurred the additional series. And the good news, I've completed a few. Club Destiny, Pier 70, The Unhinged Trilogy. However, there are some that are just dangling out there. Austin Arrows, anyone?

Hello from Washington, D.C.!!

Taylor here!

Just popping in to say hello from Washington, D.C! As we gear up for tomorrow and Saturday's signings at ApollyCon we've managed to carve out some time to explore the area. Unfortunately, it's been in the 40s and raining ALL DAY, but we managed to salvage it as best we could. Now we are waiting for our Uber Eats to drop off at the hotel before we head down to the Meet & Greet tonight. Definitely lots going on! There's a little bit of stress hanging in the air for the signing, some more anxiety/excitement upon the release of REX (Walkers of Coyote Ridge, Book 6) next Tuesday, all of this topped with a longing to see our puppers again back home in Texas. Thankfully, the amazing doggy daycare we board the dogs at have a special package that has them post updates and pictures daily, so we get our dosage of cuteness at the very least!

Well, that's about all we have for now, but here's a few pictures so far!

Synopsis
Whether it was due to lack of funds, lack of desire, or one lame excuse after another, Rex Sharpe has managed to ignore the one and only dream he’s ever had: turning his family’s dilapidated old farmhouse into a bed and breakfast. Until now. When his cousin Travis Walker decides to invest in a venture that will help revitalize the small town of Coyote Ridge, Rex knows it’s time to put up or shut up.

They say third time’s a charm, right? Jack Cunningham learns that’s not always true. When his world is unexpectedly tipped on its axis, Jack does what he does best. He runs. Only this time, he doesn’t get far. A one-night encounter with a sexy cowboy has Jack’s already topsy-turvy world spinning even more, and he soon learns, it’s only the beginning.

#BackOnTrackTuesday

Picture
Happy Tuesday! So far, this week has not gone as planned, but in the best way. Nicole was out and about yesterday morning when I received a text (while I was working) of the PERFECT couch I've been looking for. So, the next 4 hours consisted of me throwing clothes on, meeting her at Costco, loading/unloading the couch pieces, building it, taking it apart, RE-building it and finally deciding I didn't want a couch - I want a bed for my living room. 😂Maybe I can get this week back on track in my new office!

Nic has (once again) rearranged her office, and I (being her spawn and eternal mini me) did a little renovating of my makeshift office as well. We've both recently gotten new desks, and we're LOVING them!
