LOGAN & SAMANTHA
“Are we out of coffee?” Samantha asked Logan as he sat at the kitchen table.
“No,” he replied, not bothering to look up from the laptop he appeared to be studying.
Turning to face him, Samantha put her hands on her hips and waited patiently.
“Mind telling me where you hid it?”
Logan glanced up, actually looking at her, and Sam figured he was going to share the secret to where he’d obviously stashed the coffee.
“What?” he asked.
“Where is the coffee?”
“We’re out,” he responded, as though he hadn’t just told her they weren’t out.
Sam stared at him incredulously. “Seriously?”
“Seriously what?” he asked, appearing completely baffled by the way she was acting.
“I just asked and you told me we weren’t out. Now you are saying we are. Which is it?”
“We are,” he confirmed.
Sam fought the urge to grin. She knew her husband, knew how intent he was when he was working, but for some reason, this morning it rubbed her the wrong way. And no, it wasn’t the first time it had happened. “So what do I have to do to get you to listen to me the first time I ask a question?”
“Be naked,” he answered deadpan. “Always be naked and you will have my absolute, undivided attention.”
