Writer's Block Kinda sucks

Okay, so that's an understatement. It really sucks.

Honestly, it doesn't happen to me often. And the rare times it does, I can usually shift my focus to something else and I can move through it.

Not this time.

I haven't written anything in four weeks. That's an eternity for me. I've tried everything. Music. Reading. Movies. Television. Anything and everything in an attempt to spark my imagination.

Unfortunately, there's a huge black curtain between me and my creativity. It's hiding all of my past and future characters from me. They've completely disappeared!

Not even Brantley Gilbert can help me now, and trust me, I've got him on repeat. (It's no secret that I love that man)

But, I'm holding out hope. Eventually something will be there. Right?

I seriously hope so.

Until then...

Saying Goodbye is so hard

My heart is broken and I'm not sure it'll ever be repaired.
If you follow me on social media or subscribe to my weekly Hot Sheet, then you've seen hundreds of pictures of our fur-babies over the years. Harley, Heineken, Zeus and Stella as as much my children as my own flesh and blood. For those with fur-babies of your own, you understand that they are family members in every sense of the word. This year has been exceptionally difficult for us.
Heineken, Harley, Zeus
Harley, Heineken & Zeus
On June 9th, we lost our sweet Harley. And one week ago, on August 10th, we had to say goodbye to our sweet boy, Zeus.

The loss is astounding, the pain overwhelming. The tears still fall, my heart still aches.

Originally, Zeus wasn't supposed to come home with us. We had been looking for a German shepherd puppy so Harley would have a friend and came across a breeder here in Texas who had recently had a litter of puppies. I noticed Zeus almost instantly, but the family was excited about a white one, so we actually decided to get his brother. I think my heart was always set on Zeus.
By the time the litter was ready for adoption, Zeus's picture had been pulled from the website and I wanted to know what happened to him. We were told he wasn't going to make it, so they had removed him from the list of available puppies.

Clueless is finally here!

Clueless ebook
If you've read my Pier 70 series, then you've met Milly and AJ.
From the moment I typed Milly's name for the first time, I knew she was going to be something special. And as soon as Hudson's brother stepped into the picture, I knew they would have something special together.

Milly is Gannon's BFF/assistant who's been a part of the series since the very beginning. It's possible she pushed Cam and Gannon in the right direction, even. She's sassy and sweet, and beyond that nose-in-everyone's-business exterior, Milly has a heart of gold.

AJ is Hudson's brother. Nice, handsome, smart, sexy. All around great guy. He's also had a mad crush on Milly since the very first day they met. AJ is one of those guys you can't help but fall in love with. I did.

And now they have their own book. Yes, it's a novella that rounds out the Pier 70 series, but I wrote it because the readers wanted their story. It was both fun and infuriating to write this couple. It seemed that neither of them was ever on the same page, so it took some time to get to where they were going, but I'm happy to say that they did.

So, what are you waiting for? Go check it out now!
